Hikes

If you're looking for the 2012 National Trails Day hikes being offered on June 2, 2012, please check the upcoming events page. Otherwise, here are some ideas on hikes you can take on your own sometime:

  • Sulphur Spring: Take 15th Street North towards Black Eagle. 15th St N becomes US-87. Take a right at Morony Dam Road, farther down the road will be a sign for Sulphur Spring Parking.
  • Tower Rock: It is between Craig and Pelican Point. The east side of Tower Rock is visible from I-15 and can be accessed by using Exit 247 at hardy Creek.
  • First People's Buffalo Jump: 10 miles south of Great Falls on I-15 at the Ulm Exit, go 3.5 miles northwest on Ulm-Vaughn road.
  • Benton Lake:To get to the refuge, follow U.S. Highway 87 (Havre Highway) north out of Great Falls, Montana for about a mile, then turn left onto Bootlegger Trail. Travel approximately 9 miles to the well-marked Refuge entrance on the left.
